About this tool

What is a Forward Sortation Area (FSA)?

An FSA is the first three characters of a Canadian postal code (e.g. M5V). It identifies a geographic area used by Canada Post, and it's the level at which census demographics are commonly reported.

Where does this demographic data come from?

The figures are census-derived and served live through the Neighbourly API, keyed by Forward Sortation Area.

Can I access this data programmatically?

Yes — the same demographics are available through the Neighbourly API's /demographics/find endpoint, alongside boundaries, listings, permits and more.

This runs on the Neighbourly API.

Demographics, boundaries, listings and more for every Canadian place — through one API.
